Basic Baccarat Rules
Two hands are dealt: Player and Banker. The names do not refer to you or the casino — they are just labels for the two sides you can bet on. The hand whose total is closest to 9 wins.
- Aces are worth 1; cards 2 to 9 are worth their face value; 10, J, Q and K are worth 0.
- If the total goes above 9, only the last digit counts. For example 7 + 8 = 15, so the value is 5.
- If either hand gets 8 or 9 with its first two cards (a natural), both hands stand and the result is decided immediately.
- The dealer follows the third-card rules automatically — you never have to make a decision.
Third-Card Rules
Player hand: on a total of 0 to 5, Player draws a third card. On 6 or 7, Player stands.
Banker hand: if Player stood (no third card), Banker draws on 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7. If Player drew a third card, Banker's decision depends on that card:
